मुक्तिलक्ष्मी महापीठ मणिस्तच्चरणाब्जयोः । कर्णिकेयं ततः प्राहुर्यां जना मणिकर्णिकाम्
muktilakṣmī mahāpīṭha maṇistaccaraṇābjayoḥ | karṇikeyaṃ tataḥ prāhuryāṃ janā maṇikarṇikām
அவருடைய தாமரைத் திருவடிகளில் முக்திலக்ஷ்மி எனும் மகாபீடம் அமைந்துள்ளது; அங்கே மணியும் உள்ளது. ஆகையால் மக்கள் அந்த இடத்தை ‘கர்ணிகா’ (காதணி) எனச் சொல்லி, அதனால் அது ‘மணிகர்ணிகா’ என்று புகழ்பெற்றது।
