ऋतुः षोडशयामिन्यश्चतस्रस्ता सुगर्हिताः । पुत्रास्तास्वपि या युग्मा अयुग्माः कन्यका प्रजाः
ṛtuḥ ṣoḍaśayāminyaścatasrastā sugarhitāḥ | putrāstāsvapi yā yugmā ayugmāḥ kanyakā prajāḥ
ऋது பதினாறு இரவுகளைக் கொண்டது; அவற்றில் நான்கு மிகக் கண்டிக்கத்தக்கவை. மீதமுள்ள இரவுகளிலும் சம இரவில் கருவுற்றால் மகன்; ஒற்றை இரவில் கருவுற்றால் மகள் பிறப்பாள்.
