आमौलिं वाऽललाटंवाऽनासमूर्ध्वप्रमाणतः । ब्रह्मक्षत्रविशां दंडस्त्वगाढ्योनाग्निदूषितः

Transliteration

āmauliṃ vā'lalāṭaṃvā'nāsamūrdhvapramāṇataḥ | brahmakṣatraviśāṃ daṃḍastvagāḍhyonāgnidūṣitaḥ

Translation

தண்டின் அளவு தலைச்சிகை வரை அல்லது நெற்றி வரை, அல்லது குறைந்தபட்சம் மூக்கின் மேல்பகுதி வரை இருக்க வேண்டும். பிராமண-க்ஷத்திரிய-வைசியரின் தண்டு உறுதியும் தடிமனும் உடையதாக இருந்து, தீயால் கெடாததாக (கருகாததாக) இருக்க வேண்டும்.
