स्कंद उवाच । सम्यगापृच्छि भवता काशीवासिसमाहितम् । कुंभसंभव विप्रर्षे दंडपाणि कथानकम्
skaṃda uvāca | samyagāpṛcchi bhavatā kāśīvāsisamāhitam | kuṃbhasaṃbhava viprarṣe daṃḍapāṇi kathānakam
ஸ்கந்தன் கூறினான்—கும்பசம்பவனே, பிராமணசிரேஷ்டனே! காசியில் வாழ்ந்து காசியின் புனிதத்தில் லயித்த தண்டபாணியின் வரலாற்றை நீ சரியாகவே கேட்டாய்.
