सर्ववर्णाश्रमेभ्यश्च वेदविद्भ्यश्च वै तथा । शास्त्रार्थपारगेभ्यश्च गंगास्नायी विशिष्यते
sarvavarṇāśramebhyaśca vedavidbhyaśca vai tathā | śāstrārthapāragebhyaśca gaṃgāsnāyī viśiṣyate
கங்கையில் நீராடுபவன்—எல்லா வர்ண-ஆசிரமத்தாரையும், வேதத்தை அறிந்தவர்களையும், சாஸ்திரார்த்தத்தில் தேர்ந்தவர்களையும் விடவும் மேன்மையானவன் எனக் கருதப்படுகிறான்.
