न खल्वयमृतोंऽडस्थ इति स्नेहादभाषत । तदा प्रभृति लोकेयं मार्तंड इति चोच्यते
na khalvayamṛtoṃ'ḍastha iti snehādabhāṣata | tadā prabhṛti lokeyaṃ mārtaṃḍa iti cocyate
அன்பினால் அவள் கூறினாள்—“முட்டைக்குள் இருப்பவன் நிச்சயமாக இறந்தவன் அல்ல.” அந்நாள்முதல் இவ்வுலகில் அவன் ‘மார்த்தண்டன்’ எனப் புகழ்பெற்றான்.
