धिग्धिगेतदधिकर्द्धि चेष्टितं चंक्रमेक्षणविलक्षितं यतः । वीक्षते क्षणमचारुचक्षुषा घातितेन विपदःपदेन च
dhigdhigetadadhikarddhi ceṣṭitaṃ caṃkramekṣaṇavilakṣitaṃ yataḥ | vīkṣate kṣaṇamacārucakṣuṣā ghātitena vipadaḥpadena ca
அதிகச் செல்வம் நாடும் இந்த அலைபாயும் முயற்சிக்கும், இங்கும் அங்கும் அலைந்து இங்கும் அங்கும் நோக்கும் விசித்திரச் செய்கைக்கும் திக்திகாரம். ஏனெனில் கட்டுப்பாடற்ற, அழகற்ற பார்வையால் ஒரு கணம் நோக்குதலும், அபாயப் பாதையில் வைத்த ஒரு அடியும்—மனிதனைத் துன்பத்தில் வீழ்த்தும்.
