स दत्त्वा दुष्कृतं तस्मै पुण्यमादाय गच्छति । अपि वा शाकदानेन यद्वा तोयप्रदानतः । पूजयेत्तं नरः भक्त्या तेनैवातो विमुच्यते
sa dattvā duṣkṛtaṃ tasmai puṇyamādāya gacchati | api vā śākadānena yadvā toyapradānataḥ | pūjayettaṃ naraḥ bhaktyā tenaivāto vimucyate
அவன் (அதிதி) தன் துஷ்கிருதத்தை அங்கே விட்டுவிட்டு, அவருடைய புண்ணியத்தை எடுத்துக்கொண்டு செல்கிறான். ஆகவே மனிதன் பக்தியுடன் அதிதியைப் போற்ற வேண்டும்—கீரை/காய்கறி தானமாக இருந்தாலும், நீர் அளிப்பதாக இருந்தாலும்; அதனால் மட்டும் இக்குற்றத்திலிருந்து விடுபடுவான்.
