अधमानधमांस्त्यक्त्वा कुलमुत्कर्षतां नयेत् । उत्तमानुत्तमानेव गच्छेद्धीनांश्च वर्जयेत् । ब्राह्मणः श्रेष्ठतामेति प्रत्यवायेन शूद्रताम्
adhamānadhamāṃstyaktvā kulamutkarṣatāṃ nayet | uttamānuttamāneva gaccheddhīnāṃśca varjayet | brāhmaṇaḥ śreṣṭhatāmeti pratyavāyena śūdratām
அதமரும் இழிந்தவரும் ஆகியோரின் நட்பை விட்டு, தன் குலத்தை உயர்விற்கு நடத்த வேண்டும். உயர்ந்தோரில் உயர்ந்தவர்களையே அணுகி, தாழ்ந்தவர்களை விலக்க வேண்டும். பிராமணன் சதாசாரத்தால் மேன்மை அடைகிறான்; தவறுதலும் வீழ்ச்சியும் ஏற்பட்டால் தாழ்நிலைக்குச் செல்கிறான்.
