शासनं चेन्न दृष्टं वो नैव तत्पालयाम्यहम् । द्विजाः कोपसमाविष्टा ददुः प्रत्युत्तरं तदा
śāsanaṃ cenna dṛṣṭaṃ vo naiva tatpālayāmyaham | dvijāḥ kopasamāviṣṭā daduḥ pratyuttaraṃ tadā
நீங்கள் அந்த ஆணையை (அதிகாரத்தை) காணவில்லை என்றால், நான் அதை ஏற்கமாட்டேன். இதைக் கேட்ட கோபம் கொண்ட இருபிறப்பினர் அப்போது பதிலளித்தனர்.
