rāmeṇa tumule yuddhe rāvaṇo drāvito raṇāt | pañcamyā aṣṭamī yāvadrāvaṇena prabodhitaḥ

Translation

கடுமையான போரில் ஸ்ரீராமன் ராவணனைப் போர்க்களத்திலிருந்து பின்வாங்கச் செய்தான். பஞ்சமி முதல் அஷ்டமி வரை ராவணனின் தூண்டுதலால் அவன் மீண்டும் போருக்கு எழுந்தான்.
