सोम उवाच । दक्षशापेन मे ब्रह्मन्निस्तेजस्त्वं जगत्पते । निर्हारश्चास्य शापस्य कथ्यतां मे पितामह
soma uvāca | dakṣaśāpena me brahmannistejastvaṃ jagatpate | nirhāraścāsya śāpasya kathyatāṃ me pitāmaha
சோமன் கூறினான்— “ஓ பிரம்மன், ஓ ஜகத்பதே! தக்ஷனின் சாபத்தால் நான் ஒளியிழந்தேன். ஓ பிதாமகா, இந்தச் சாபத்திலிருந்து விடுதலை பெறும் வழியை எனக்குச் சொல்லுங்கள்.”
