Mārkaṇḍeya
Tirtha: Śaṅkhacūḍa
Type: ghat
Listener: Pārtha (Arjuna)
Scene: On the Narmadā’s pleasant bank, Śaṅkhacūḍa is shown dwelling near a ghāṭ or grove, watchful and fearful of Garuḍa; the river appears protective and serene.
Even beings driven by fear seek refuge at sanctifying places; the tīrtha becomes a locus of protection and merit.
The Narmadā riverbank associated with Śaṅkhacūḍa—later known as Śaṅkhacūḍa Tīrtha.
None in this verse; it provides the tīrtha’s narrative background.
