idaṃ tīrthaṃ mahāpuṇyaṃ nānāścaryaṃ mahītale | asya tīrthasya māhātmyamutpattiṃ śṛṇu bhārata
இந்த தீர்த்தம் மஹாபுண்யம் அளிப்பது; பூமியில் பலவித அதிசயங்களால் நிறைந்தது. பாரதா! இந்த தீர்த்தத்தின் மஹாத்மியத்தையும் தோற்றத்தையும் கேள்.
