tvayā saha bhaviṣyāmi ekenāṃśena suvrate | mahāpātakayuktānāmauṣadhaṃ tvaṃ bhaviṣyasi
Śiva (Mahādeva)
Tirtha: Revā/Narmadā
Type: river
Listener: Narmadā Devī (addressed as suvrate)
Scene: Śiva bestowing a portion of his presence into the river; Narmadā as a radiant goddess whose waters glow like healing nectar; sinners approach burdened, emerge purified and calm.
A tīrtha becomes supremely purifying when divinity abides in it; Śiva’s partial presence makes Narmadā a healing force for grave karmic burdens.
Narmadā (Revā) as a Śaiva tīrtha where Śiva is declared to be specially present.
No explicit ritual is named; the implication is that contact with the river—especially snāna and devotion—acts as ‘medicine’ for sin.
