गङ्गा षष्टिसहस्रैस्तु क्षेत्रपालैः प्रपूज्यते । तदर्धैरन्यतीर्थानि रक्षन्ते नात्र संशयः
gaṅgā ṣaṣṭisahasraistu kṣetrapālaiḥ prapūjyate | tadardhairanyatīrthāni rakṣante nātra saṃśayaḥ
கங்கை அறுபதாயிரம் க்ஷேத்ரபாலர்களால் முறையாகப் போற்றிப் பூஜிக்கப்படுகின்றாள். பிற தீர்த்தங்கள் அதன் பாதி எண்ணிக்கையால் காக்கப்படுகின்றன—இதில் ஐயமில்லை.
