श्रीमार्कण्डेय उवाच । ततस्त्वेकार्णवे तस्मिन्मुमूर्षुरहमातुरः । काकूच्छ्वासस्तरंस्तोयं बाहुभ्यां नृपसत्तम
śrīmārkaṇḍeya uvāca | tatastvekārṇave tasminmumūrṣurahamāturaḥ | kākūcchvāsastaraṃstoyaṃ bāhubhyāṃ nṛpasattama
ஸ்ரீ மார்கண்டேயர் கூறினார்—அரசர்களில் சிறந்தவனே, அப்போது அந்த ஒரே பேர்கடலில் நான் துயருற்று மரணத்துக்கு நெருங்கியவனாய் இருந்தேன்; கெஞ்சிக் குமுறி மூச்சுத்திணறி, கரங்களால் நீந்தி, நீர்மேல் மிதந்தேன்.
