பிராயச்சித்தம் செய்யாதோர் யமலோகத்தில் பலவகைத் துன்பத் தண்டனைகளை அனுபவிப்பர்; அவற்றிலிருந்து விடுபட்டபின், அவர்கள் பல உயிர்தொடர்களாக—பிறவி பிறவியாகிய ஓட்டங்களாக—செல்வர்.
