देवदेव उवाच । एकश्चायं महाबाहुर्वासुकिर्भुजगोत्तमः । मम पार्श्वे वसेन्नित्यं सर्वेषां भयरक्षकः
devadeva uvāca | ekaścāyaṃ mahābāhurvāsukirbhujagottamaḥ | mama pārśve vasennityaṃ sarveṣāṃ bhayarakṣakaḥ
தேவர்களின் தேவன் உரைத்தான்—“மிகுந்த வலிமையுடைய நாகங்களில் சிறந்த வாசுகி எப்போதும் என் அருகில் வாசிக்கட்டும்; அனைவருக்கும் அச்சநீக்கிப் பாதுகாவலனாக இருக்கட்டும்.”
