श्रीमार्कण्डेय उवाच । एतच्छ्रुत्वा वचो राजन्संहृष्टा ऋषयोऽभवन् । नर्मदां स्तोतुमारब्धाः कृताञ्जलिपुटा द्विजाः
śrīmārkaṇḍeya uvāca | etacchrutvā vaco rājansaṃhṛṣṭā ṛṣayo'bhavan | narmadāṃ stotumārabdhāḥ kṛtāñjalipuṭā dvijāḥ
ஸ்ரீ மார்கண்டேயர் கூறினார்—அரசே, இவ்வசனத்தை கேட்டவுடன் முனிவர்கள் மிக மகிழ்ந்தனர். கைகூப்பி அந்த இருபிறப்பினர் நர்மதையைப் புகழ்ந்து பாடத் தொடங்கினர்.
