Bāṇāsura Receives Gaṇapatya; Genealogical Prelude

आबाल्याद्विष्णुभक्तासि यतोऽनिशमतंद्रिता । एवमस्त्विति सा प्राह मनसा लज्जितानना

நீ சிறுவயதிலிருந்தே விஷ்ணு பக்தி கொண்டவள்; எப்போதும் நிலைத்தும் சோர்வில்லாமலும் இருக்கிறாய். இதைக் கேட்ட அவள்—உள்ளத்தில் வெட்கம் கொண்டு முகம் தாழ்த்தி—“அப்படியே ஆகட்டும்” என்று மனத்தில் சொன்னாள்.
