शिवस्य आश्वासनं हरि-ब्रह्मणोः तथा शङ्खचूडवृत्तान्तकथनम् / Śiva’s Reassurance to Hari and Brahmā; Account of Śaṅkhacūḍa’s Origin
रक्षकोऽहं सदा प्रीत्या सुभद्रं वो भविष्यति । मदिच्छयाऽखिलं जातमिदं सर्वं न संशयः
rakṣako'haṃ sadā prītyā subhadraṃ vo bhaviṣyati | madicchayā'khilaṃ jātamidaṃ sarvaṃ na saṃśayaḥ
Lord Shiva (Rudra)
Tattva Level: pati
Shiva Form: Sadāśiva
Role: liberating
The verse establishes Shiva as Pati—the supreme Lord who protects devotees through grace (anugraha) and who is the ultimate cause behind manifestation; trusting His guardianship removes fear and doubt.
It supports Saguna Shiva-bhakti: the devotee approaches Shiva as a personal protector and benefactor, often through Linga worship, while recognizing that His will stands behind all creation and order.
A practical takeaway is steady Shiva-smaraṇa and japa of the Panchakshara (“Om Namaḥ Śivāya”), cultivating trust in Shiva’s protection and offering one’s actions to His will.
