Sūta Gosvāmin (traditional Purāṇic narrator; colophon closing the chapter as recited to the sages of Naimiṣāraṇya)
Sthala Purana: Colophon (iti…) marking the end of the chapter on Śiva-pūjā procedure; not a shrine-origin narrative.
Significance: Functions as textual ‘maṅgala/closure’ affirming the authority and placement of the ritual teaching within the Śiva Purāṇa’s Rudrasaṃhitā.
This is a colophon marking the completion of a chapter that codifies Śiva-pūjā-vidhi; spiritually, it emphasizes that devotion (bhakti) is strengthened by śāstra-guided worship directed to Pati (Śiva), the liberating Lord.
By naming the chapter as “Śiva-pūjā-vidhāna,” it frames the preceding teaching as an authoritative procedure for Saguna worship—commonly centered on the Śiva-liṅga as the accessible, grace-bestowing form through which the devotee approaches the transcendent.
The verse itself is a closing marker, but it points to the chapter’s focus: disciplined Śiva worship—typically including mantra-japa (often the Pañcākṣarī), offerings, and purity observances as taught in the Rudra Saṃhitā.
