It highlights disciplined service to Śiva (Pati): even mighty gaṇas must be corrected when dharma and Śiva’s mission require it, and true devotion expresses itself as fearless, duty-bound leadership.
The gaṇas and their commander act as extensions of Saguna Śiva’s divine order; honoring the Liṅga includes honoring Śiva’s governance—devotion is not only ritual, but alignment with His command and protection of His purpose.
A practical takeaway is to steady the mind with the Pañcākṣarī mantra (“Om Namaḥ Śivāya”) and cultivate nirbhayatā (fearlessness) as an inner vrata, offering one’s actions as service to Śiva.
