It portrays the outer signs of inner devotion: when Shiva’s grace and auspiciousness manifest, the atmosphere becomes saturated with mangala-nāda—music, victory-cries, and repeated salutations expressing surrender (namaḥ).
The repeated “namaḥ” and “jaya” reflect Saguna upāsanā—devotees respond to Shiva’s manifest presence with praise and prostration, the same devotional mood central to Linga worship with mantra, bells, and auspicious sounds.
Japa of “namaḥ śivāya” (Pañcākṣarī) with devotional sound—bell, conch, or kīrtana—performed repeatedly, cultivating humility and bhakti as the mind returns again and again to Shiva.
