Tattva Level: pati
Shiva Form: Dakṣiṇāmūrti
Type: stotra
Shakti Form: Pārvatī
Role: teaching
It frames the Shiva–Pārvatī dialogue as compassionate instruction meant for universal uplift, and as fully aligned with Śruti—indicating that Śiva’s grace (Pati) reveals liberating knowledge and right devotion for all beings (paśu) bound by pāśa.
By presenting Śiva’s teachings as Veda-consistent and world-benefiting, it supports Saguna worship—such as devotion to the Śiva-liṅga—as a valid, scripturally grounded means to receive Śiva’s guidance and progress toward realization of the supreme Pati.
The takeaway is śravaṇa and manana—listening to Śiva-kathā and reflecting on its Vedic purport—supported by Shaiva sādhana such as japa of the Pañcākṣarī (Om Namaḥ Śivāya) to internalize the teaching for the welfare of oneself and others.
