Sukta 9.99
सुत इन्दो पवित्र आ नृभिर्यतो वि नीयसे । इन्द्राय मत्सरिन्तमश्चमूष्वा नि षीदसि ॥
sutá índo pavítra ā́ nṛ́bhir yató ví nīyase | índrāya matsaríntamaś camū́ṣv ā́ ní ṣīdasi ||
ஓ இந்து (சோம), பிழிந்து எடுக்கப்பட்ட நீ பவித்ரம் (வடிகட்டி) நோக்கி மனிதர்களின் செயல்வலத்தால் நடத்தப்பட்டு செல்கிறாய். இந்திரனுக்காக மிகுந்த மத்்ஸர (பரவச-உன்மத்த)த்தைத் தூண்டும் நீ, சமூ (பாத்திரங்கள்) இல் வந்து அமர்கிறாய்; இதனால் இந்திரன் ஒளிமிகு ஆட்சி-வலிமையைப் பருகுவான்.
