Sukta 8.1
त्वं पुरं चरिष्ण्वं वधैः शुष्णस्य सं पिणक् । त्वं भा अनु चरो अध द्विता यदिन्द्र हव्यो भुवः ॥
tváṃ púraṃ cariṣṇváṃ vadháiḥ śúṣṇasya sáṃ piṇak | tváṃ bhā́ ánu caró ádha dvitā́ yád indra hávyo bhúvaḥ ||
நீ உன் அடிகளால் ஷுஷ்ணனின் அசையும் புரம் (கோட்டை) யை நொறுக்கினாய். நீ ‘பா’ (ஒளி) யைத் தொடர்ந்து சென்றாய்; பின்னர் மீண்டும், இந்திரா, இரண்டாம் முறையும் நீ ‘ஹவ்ய’—அழைக்கத்தக்கவன்—ஆகிறாய்; அழைப்பு எழும்போது ஹவி-யாகத்திற்காகத் திரும்பி வருகிறாய்.
