Sukta 7.18
न त इन्द्र सुमतयो न रायः संचक्षे पूर्वा उषसो न नूत्नाः । देवकं चिन्मान्यमानं जघन्थाव त्मना बृहतः शम्बरं भेत् ॥
ná ta indra sumatáyo ná rā́yaḥ saṁcákṣe pū́rvā uṣáso ná nū́tnāḥ | devákaṁ cin mānyamānáṁ jaghánthā́va tmánā bṛhatáḥ śámbaraṁ bhet ||
ஓ இந்திரா, உன் சுமதிகளும் உன் ராய் (செல்வ-அருள்)வும் தீர்ந்து போவதில்லை—உஷஸ்கள் போல, என்றும் பழமையும் என்றும் புதுமையும் உடையவை. தன்னைப் பெரிதென எண்ணிய தேவகனையும் நீ வீழ்த்தினாய்; மேலும் உன் சொந்தப் பெருவிரிந்த ஆத்மவலத்தால், அந்தப் பெரும் கோட்டையெனும்/மூடுபடலமெனும் ஶம்பரனை நீ உடைத்தாய்.
