इमामू ष्वासुरस्य श्रुतस्य महीं मायां वरुणस्य प्र वोचम् । मानेनेव तस्थिवाँ अन्तरिक्षे वि यो ममे पृथिवीं सूर्येण ॥
imā́m ū̀ ṣvā́surasya śrutásya mahī́ṃ māyā́ṃ váruṇasya prá vocam | mā́nena-iva tasthivā́ṃ antárikṣe ví yó mamé pṛthivī́ṃ sū́ryeṇa ||
இப்போது நான் அசுரன், தூர‑ச்ருதன் வருணனின் இந்த மாபெரும் மாயையை உரைக்கிறேன். அவர் அந்தரிக்ஷத்தில் அளவுக் கோலுடன் நின்றதுபோல்; சூரியனால் பிருதிவியை அளந்து எல்லை‑ஒழுங்கில் நிறுவினார்—ருதத்தின் ஒளியால் உலக ஒழுங்கை நிலைநாட்டுகிறார்.
