Sukta 5.1
तुभ्यं भरन्ति क्षितयो यविष्ठ बलिमग्ने अन्तित ओत दूरात् । आ भन्दिष्ठस्य सुमतिं चिकिद्धि बृहत्ते अग्ने महि शर्म भद्रम् ॥
túbhyaṃ bharanti kṣitáyo yaviṣṭha balím agne ántita óta dūrā́t | ā́ bhandiṣṭhasya su-matíṃ cikiddhi bṛhá t te agne máhi śárma bhadrám ||
இளையவனாகிய அக்னியே! அருகிலிருந்தும் தொலைவிலிருந்தும் மக்கள் உனக்குப் பலி (அர்ப்பணம்) கொண்டு வருகின்றனர். மிகத் தாராளனின் சுமதி (நல்ல எண்ணம்) எங்களுள் உணர்ந்து நிலைபெறச் செய்; அக்னியே, உன் மகத்தான, விரிந்த, நன்மை தரும் சரணம் உண்மையிலேயே இனிய காவல்.
