वनस्पतेऽव सृजोप देवानग्निर्हविः शमिता सूदयाति । सेदु होता सत्यतरो यजाति यथा देवानां जनिमानि वेद ॥
vánaspáte’vá sṛjópa devā́n agnír havíḥ śamitā́ sūdayāti | séd u hotā́ satyátaro yajāti yáthā devā́nāṃ jánimāni véda ||
ஓ வனஸ்பதி (யாகச் சமித்து), தேவர்களை விடுவித்து அருகே வரச் செய்; அக்னி—ஹவிஸின் நிபுண ஶமிதா—அர்ப்பணத்தைச் சீராக்குகிறான். அப்பொழுது அந்த ஹோதா, மேலும் உண்மையுடையவன், யாகத்தை நடத்துகிறான்; ஏனெனில் தேவர்களின் பிறப்புகளையும் (தோற்றமும் முறையும்) அவன் அறிந்தவன்.
