असूत पूर्वो वृषभो ज्यायानिमा अस्य शुरुधः सन्ति पूर्वीः । दिवो नपाता विदथस्य धीभिः क्षत्रं राजाना प्रदिवो दधाथे ॥
ásūta pū́rvo vṛṣabhó jyā́yān imā́ asya śurúdhaḥ santi pūrvī́ḥ | dívo napātā vidáthasya dhībhíḥ kṣatráṁ rājānā prádivo dadhāthe ||
முதலில் அந்த மூத்த வृषபன் (வல்லமை) பிறந்தான்; அவனுடைய வலத்தின் இப் பல ஓடைகள் ஆதியாய், பழமையாய் உள்ளன. ஓ இரு அரசர்களே, த்யௌவின் நபாதர்களே, யாகத்தில் தியான-தீக்ஷைகளால் நீங்கள் அந்த க்ஷத்ரம்—அரசாட்சிச் சக்தியை—தாங்குகிறீர்கள்; அது பிரகாசமிகு விண்ணுலகமான ‘ப்ரதிவ்’ இலிருந்து வருகிறது.
