Sukta 2.28
यो मे राजन्युज्यो वा सखा वा स्वप्ने भयं भीरवे मह्यमाह । स्तेनो वा यो दिप्सति नो वृको वा त्वं तस्माद्वरुण पाह्यस्मान् ॥
yó me rájan yújyo vā sákhā vā svápne bhayáṃ bhīráve máhyam ā́ha | stenó vā yó dípsati no vṛ́ko vā tváṃ tásmād varuṇa pāhy asmā́n ||
ஓ அரசன் வருணா! எனக்குச் சேவையில் கட்டுப்பட்டவனாக இருந்தாலும், நண்பனாக இருந்தாலும்—கனவில்கூட என் அஞ்சும் உள்ளத்தில் அச்சத்தை ஊட்டுபவன்; எங்கள் செல்வம்/உள்ளார்ந்த செல்வத்தை அபகரிக்க நாடும் திருடன்; அல்லது வ்ருக (ஓநாய்) போன்ற விழுங்கும் வலிமை—அவற்றிலிருந்து நீ எங்களைப் பாதுகாப்பாயாக, வருணா.
