गणानां त्वा गणपतिं हवामहे कविं कवीनामुपमश्रवस्तमम् । ज्येष्ठराजं ब्रह्मणां ब्रह्मणस्पत आ नः शृण्वन्नूतिभिः सीद सादनम् ॥

Transliteration

gaṇā́nāṃ tvā gaṇá-patiṃ havāmahe kavíṃ kavīnā́m upamá-śravas-tamam | jyeṣṭhá-rājaṃ bráhmaṇāṃ brahmaṇas-pate ā́ naḥ śṛṇván ūtí-bhiḥ sīda sā́danam ||

Translation

கணங்களின் கணபதியே, உம்மை நாம் அழைக்கிறோம்—கவிகளில் கவியாக, ஒப்பற்ற புகழுடையவனாக, மிகச் சிறந்த புகழ் பெற்றவனாக. மந்திரங்களின் (பிரஹ்ம) மூத்த அரசனே, பிரஹ்மணஸ்பதியே, எங்களை கேட்டு; உன் உதவிகளுடன் வந்து எங்கள் ஆசனத்தில் (உள் ஆலயத்தில்) அமர்வாயாக.
