Sukta 2.12
यो जात एव प्रथमो मनस्वान्देवो देवान्क्रतुना पर्यभूषत् । यस्य शुष्माद्रोदसी अभ्यसेतां नृम्णस्य मह्ना स जनास इन्द्रः ॥
yó jātá evá prathamó mánasvān devó devā́n kratúnā paryábhūṣat | yásya śúṣmād ródasī abhyàsetāṃ nṛmṇásya mahnā́ sá janāsa índraḥ ||
பிறந்தவுடனே முதல்வனாய் தோன்றியவன்—மனவலிமை கொண்ட தேவன்; தன் க்ரது (சங்கல்ப-செயல்-சக்தி) மூலம் தேவர்களைச் சூழ்ந்து மேலோங்கியவன்; அவன் ஷுஷ்ம (தீவிரத் தேஜஸ்-பல) காரணமாக வானும் பூமியும் நடுங்கின—அவன் ந்ரும்ண (வீரப் பராக்ரம) மகிமையால்: ஓ மக்களே, அவனே இந்திரன்.
