Sukta 10.98
यद्देवापिः शंतनवे पुरोहितो होत्राय वृतः कृपयन्नदीधेत् । देवश्रुतं वृष्टिवनिं रराणो बृहस्पतिर्वाचमस्मा अयच्छत् ॥
yád devā́piḥ śáṃtanave puróhito hótrāya vṛtáḥ kṛpáyann ádīḍhet | deva-śrútaṃ vṛṣṭi-vánim rárāṇo bṛ́haspátir vā́cam asmā ayacchat ||
சந்தனுவிற்குப் புரோஹிதனாகத் தேர்ந்தெடுக்கப்பட்ட தேவாபி, கருணை உள்ளத்துடன் ஹோத்ரக் கிரியைக்காக அக்னியைத் தீவிரமாக ஏற்றினான்; தேவரால் கேட்கப்பட்ட, மழையை வெல்லும் (மழை வரவழைக்கும்) வாணியில் மகிழ்ந்து—அப்போது ப்ருஹஸ்பதி அவனுக்கு வாக்கை அருளினார்.
