Sukta 10.18
इमं जीवेभ्यः परिधिं दधामि मैषां नु गादपरो अर्थमेतम् । शतं जीवन्तु शरदः पुरूचीरन्तर्मृत्युं दधतां पर्वतेन ॥
imáṃ jīvébhyaḥ paridhíṃ dadhāmi máiṣāṃ nú gād áparo ártham etám | śatáṃ jīvantú śarádaḥ purūcī́r antár mṛtyúṃ dadhatā́ṃ párvatena ||
உயிருள்ளோருக்காக இவ்வெல்லை-வட்டத்தை நான் நிறுவுகிறேன்; இவர்கள் யாரும் இம்மரியாதையைத் தாண்டி அந்த அப்பாலான இலக்கு (மரணலோகம்) நோக்கி செல்லாதிருப்பாராக. அவர்கள் நூறு சரத்காலங்கள், பலவும் நிறைவுமாக, வாழ்வாராக; மரணத்தை உள்ளேயே வைத்துக் கட்டுப்படுத்துவாராக—மலை ஒன்று அடைத்ததுபோல்.
