ऊर्ध्वं नुनुद्रेऽवतं त ओजसा दादृहाणं चिद्बिभिदुर्वि पर्वतम् । धमन्तो वाणं मरुतः सुदानवो मदे सोमस्य रण्यानि चक्रिरे ॥
ūrdhváṃ nunudre ’vatáṃ te ójasā dādṛhāṇáṃ cid bibhidur ví párvatam | dhámanto vāṇáṃ marútaḥ sudā́navo máde sómasya raṇyā́ni cakrire ||
தம் ஓஜஸால் அவர்கள் கீழே அழுத்தும் வலிமையை மேலே தள்ளினர்; உறுதியாக நிலைத்திருந்த மலையையும் பிளந்தனர். தங்கள் முழக்கத்தை ஊதிக்கொண்டு, தானமிகு மருதர்கள், சோம-மதத்தில், போரின் மகிழ்ச்சிகளையும் களிப்புகளையும் உருவாக்கினர்—நேர்மையான போரில் குதிக்கும் வீர-ஆற்றல்கள்.
