इन्द्रो वृत्रस्य तविषीं निरहन्त्सहसा सहः । महत्तदस्य पौंस्यं वृत्रं जघन्वाँ असृजदर्चन्ननु स्वराज्यम् ॥
índro vṛtrásya táviṣīṃ nír ahan sáhasā sáhaḥ | mahát tád asya páuṃsyaṃ vṛtráṃ jaghánvān asṛ́jad ’rcann ánu sva-rā́jyam ||
இந்திரன் வலிமையின் மேல் வலிமையால் வ்ருத்ரனின் திடவலிமையை அகற்றினான். மகத்தானது அவனது அந்த ஆண்மைப் பராக்கிரமம்: வ்ருத்ரனை வதைத்து, அடக்கப்பட்டிருந்த நீர்ச் சோலைகளை விடுவித்தான்—தன் சுவராஜ்யத்தின் பின்தொடர்வில் ஒளிர்ந்து.
