Sukta 1.167

Rishi: Agastya Mānavā (traditional attribution for RV 1.165–1.191, Marut cycle; hymn 1.167 commonly ascribed to Agastya)
Devata: Marut-gaṇa with the leading power (often Indra in companionship with the Maruts)

प्र तं विवक्मि वक्म्यो य एषां मरुतां महिमा सत्यो अस्ति । सचा यदीं वृषमणा अहंयुः स्थिरा चिज्जनीर्वहते सुभागाः ॥

prá taṃ vivakmi vakmyò yá eṣā́ṃ marútāṃ mahimā́ satyó ásti | sacā́ yad ī́m vṛ́ṣa-manā a-haṃ-yúḥ sthirā́ cid jánīr váhate su-bhāgā́ḥ ||

நான் அந்த (தேவனை)ப் புகழ்ந்து உரைக்க முன்வைக்கிறேன்—உண்மையிலேயே உரைக்கத்தக்கவன்; இம்மருத்களின் மகிமையின் சத்தியத் தத்துவம் அவனே. அவன் அவர்களுடன் செல்கையில்—வ்ருஷ-மனத்துடன், தன்னால் தானே இயங்கும் வலிமையுடன்—நிலையாக நிறுவப்பட்ட சக்திகளும் கூட முன்னே கொண்டு செல்லப்படுகின்றன; தம் பங்கில் சுபாகமடைகின்றன.
