स ईं मृगो अप्यो वनर्गुरुप त्वच्युपमस्यां नि धायि । व्यब्रवीद्वयुना मर्त्येभ्योऽग्निर्विद्वाँ ऋतचिद्धि सत्यः ॥
sá ī́ṃ mṛgó apyó vanargúr úpa tváci upa-masyā́ṃ ní dhāyi | vy àbravīd vayúnā mártyebhyo 'gnír vidvā́ṃ ṛtá-cid hí satyáḥ ||
அவன்—நீரில் தேடும் மிருகம், காட்டில் அலைபவன்—அருகிய மூடுபடலத்தின் மேற்பரப்பில் நிறுவப்பட்டான். அப்போது அக்னி, அறிந்தவன், மர்த்தியர்க்கு மறைநடைகளை (வயுன) வெளிப்படுத்தினான்; ஏனெனில் அவன் ṛta-வின் விதியிலும் உண்மையாய் நிற்பவன்.
