निष्प्रभां शोकसन्तप्तां मलसङ्कुलमूर्धजाम्।।।।क्षीणपुण्यां च्युतां भूमौ तारां निपतितामिव।

Transliteration

niṣprabhāṃ śokasantaptāṃ malasaṅkulamūrdhajām |

kṣīṇapuṇyāṃ cyutāṃ bhūmau tārāṃ nipatitām iva ||5.17.19||

Translation

அவள் ஒளியற்றவள்; துயரால் சுட்டவள்; தூசி-அழுக்கால் சிக்கிய கூந்தலுடையவள்—புண்ணியம் சுருங்கி பூமியில் விழுந்த நட்சத்திரம்போல் தோன்றினாள்।
