तौ तत्र हत्वा चतुरो महामृगान्वराहमृश्यं पृषतं महारुरुम्।आदाय मेध्यं त्वरितं बुभुक्षितौवासाय काले ययतुर्वनस्पतिम्।।2.52.102।।

tau tatra hatvā caturo mahāmṛgān varāham ṛśyaṃ pṛṣataṃ mahārurum | ādāya medhyaṃ tvaritaṃ bubhukṣitau vāsāya kāle yayatur vanaspatim ||

அங்கே பசியுற்ற அந்த இருவரும் நான்கு பெரிய மிருகங்களை—வராகம், ரிஷ்ய மான், புள்ளிமான், பெரிய ருரு மான்—வதைத்தனர். தூய (மேத்ய) இறைச்சியை விரைவாக எடுத்துக்கொண்டு, மாலைக்காலத்தில் இரவு தங்க ஒரு மரத்தினிடத்தே சென்றனர்।
