काञ्चनं रथमास्थाय कामगं रत्नभूषितम्।पिशाचवदनैर्युक्तं खरैः काञ्चनभूषणैः।।3.35.6।।मेघप्रतिमनादेन स तेन धनदानुजः।राक्षसाधिपतिश्श्रीमान्ययौ नदनदीपतिम्।।3.35.7।।
kāñcanaṃ ratham āsthāya kāmagaṃ ratnabhūṣitam |
piśācavadanair yuktaṃ kharaiḥ kāñcanabhūṣaṇaiḥ ||
meghapratimanādena sa tena dhanadānujaḥ |
rākṣasādhipatiḥ śrīmān yayau nadanadīpatim ||
ரத்தினங்களால் அலங்கரிக்கப்பட்ட, விருப்பம்போல் செல்லவல்ல பொன் தேரில் ஏறி—பொன் ஆபரணங்கள் அணிந்த பிசாசு முகமுடைய கழுதைகள் பூட்டப்பட்டதாக—மேகமுழக்கம் போன்ற ஒலியுடன், குபேரனின் இளையவன், செல்வமிகு ராக்ஷசாதிபதி ராவணன் நதநதிகளின் தலைவனான சமுத்திரத்தை நோக்கிப் புறப்பட்டான்।
