The Greatness of the Jayantī Vow
Fast, Vigil, and Worship of Hari/Kṛṣṇa
sūta uvāca | kathayitvā nāradaṃ tu yayau sa ca yathāgataḥ | mayāpi kathitaṃ brahmanyatpṛṣṭo'haṃ tvayā mune
Sūta
Primary Rasa: shanta
Secondary Rasa: adbhuta
Sandhi Resolution Notes:
It serves as a closing/transition line: Sūta marks that the account was conveyed to Nārada and that he has now answered the sage’s inquiry, signaling completion of a narrated segment.
Nārada is a paradigmatic divine sage and messenger; invoking him frames the story as part of an authoritative lineage of hearing and retelling (śruti-smṛti style transmission).
The verse highlights faithful transmission—speaking truthfully and completely in response to sincere inquiry—an ideal for teachers, reciters, and listeners in Purāṇic tradition.
