Sandhi Resolution Notes: यत्पृष्टो = यत् + पृष्टः; एतत्सुरालये = एतत् + सुरालये (त् + स → त्स्).
Sūta is speaking, addressing a brāhmaṇa and “best of sages,” introducing the account he is about to narrate.
It recalls an earlier scene in the gods’ abode where Nārada questioned Brahmā about the topic that Sūta is now going to explain.
The verse emphasizes disciplined listening and faithful transmission of sacred knowledge through respected teacher–student lineages.
