गङ्गामाहात्म्य — The Greatness of the Gaṅgā
तच्छ्रुत्वा सगरः क्रुद्धः कोपसंरक्तलोचनः । हनिष्यामीत्यरातीन्स प्रतिज्ञामकरोत्तदा ॥ २७ ॥
tacchrutvā sagaraḥ kruddhaḥ kopasaṃraktalocanaḥ | haniṣyāmītyarātīnsa pratijñāmakarottadā || 27 ||
அதைக் கேட்ட சகர மன்னன் கோபத்தில் கொந்தளித்து, சினத்தால் கண்கள் சிவந்தன. அப்போது “எதிரிகளை நான் வதம் செய்வேன்” என்று உறுதியான பிரமாணம் செய்தான்.
