Gaṅgā-māhātmya: Bāhu’s Envy, Defeat, Forest Exile, and Aurva’s Dharmic Consolation

विवेकं हन्त्यहंकारस्त्वविवेकात्तु जीविनाम् । आपदः संभवन्त्येवेत्यहंकारं त्यजेत्ततः ॥ ३० ॥

vivekaṃ hantyahaṃkārastvavivekāttu jīvinām | āpadaḥ saṃbhavantyevetyahaṃkāraṃ tyajettataḥ || 30 ||

அகங்காரம் விவேகத்தை அழிக்கிறது. விவேகம் இல்லாததால் உயிர்களுக்குத் தவிர்க்க முடியாமல் துன்பங்கள் உண்டாகின்றன; ஆகவே அகங்காரத்தை விட்டு விட வேண்டும்.
