अहमेवाधिक इति सर्वेऽपि विवदंति च । अधर्मलोलुपाः सर्वे तथा वैतंहिका नराः ॥ ३२ ॥
ahamevādhika iti sarve'pi vivadaṃti ca | adharmalolupāḥ sarve tathā vaitaṃhikā narāḥ || 32 ||
அனைவரும் “நானே உயர்ந்தவன்” என்று கூறி வாதாடுவர். அவர்கள் அனைவரும் அதர்மத்திற்கு பேராசை கொண்டவர்கள்; அத்தகையோர் வஞ்சகரும் பாசாங்கர்களும் ஆவர்.

It diagnoses ego (“I am superior”) as a root cause of quarrel and links it with adharma—showing that inner arrogance quickly expresses itself as deceitful, hypocritical conduct.
By condemning self-importance and hypocrisy, the verse indirectly upholds bhakti’s foundation: humility and sincerity. Devotion to Vishnu cannot mature where rivalry and adharma dominate the mind.
Not a technical Vedanga lesson; it emphasizes sadācāra (right conduct) and truthful speech—ethical disciplines that support all scriptural study, ritual practice, and mantra-based worship.
